Start from the craving
Type "something charred and sour" and get three builds that hit it, ranked against the axes your palate scored highest.
Free plan, no card. Take the five-minute palate quiz and let tonight build itself.
Palatis maps how you actually taste, then turns tonight's craving, your goals and whatever is already in the pantry into a chef-curated meal build. Dinner decided in 90 seconds.

Hand your missing ingredients to the grocers and kitchens your city already uses.
Most nights you already have one fact: a craving, a macro target, half a fennel bulb, or six people at eight. Palatis starts from whichever one you have and works out the rest.
One app doing three jobs: it learns your palate, it reasons over your pantry and your goals, and it borrows judgement from people who cook for a living. No recipe search, no scrolling, no fourteen open tabs.
Palate profile
Answer thirty quick pairings — lime or honey, char or cream — and Palatis scores you on acid, umami, heat, fat and bitter edge. Every build after that aims at your map instead of an average eater. Recalibrate whenever your taste moves.

Say what you want in your own words, or send a photo of the shelf. The flavor coach answers in seconds with a build, a pan, a timing order and the two swaps that keep it honest.

Scan or type your shelves once and Palatis keeps count. Builds lead with whatever is closest to turning, so the fennel becomes dinner instead of compost. Cooks cut food waste 31% in their first month.

Every build carries notes in plain kitchen language: salt now, not later; the pan is not hot enough; swap the yogurt for tahini and the acid still lands. Eighteen partner chefs wrote the playbook those notes come from.

Palatis subtracts your pantry from the build and hands the remainder to Freshcart, Umamiya or whichever partner you already use. One tap, one basket, no aisle math. On every plan, including Free.
Learn moreThe map is math. The judgement is not. Palatis pairs a palate model trained on 2.4M meal builds with 18 partner chefs and registered dietitians who review what it recommends.

Acid, umami, heat, fat, bitter edge. What each one does to a dish, and how to tell which one your last failure was missing.
Farro, anchovies, a tired lemon and half a fennel is four dinners, not zero. The substitution logic Palatis uses, written out by hand.
Why per-meal targets beat daily totals, how we estimate a portion from a photo, and the three cases where that estimate goes wrong.
Straight answers. If yours is not here, write to [email protected] and a person replies.
Yes. You declare allergens and intolerances during setup, and Palatis excludes them at the ingredient level rather than filtering finished recipes, so a build never arrives with sesame hidden in the paste. Registered dietitians sign off every allergen rule before it ships. It is still a planning tool, not a label reader: check the packet, because manufacturers reformulate without telling anyone.
No. There is no food diary and no daily streak. Palatis learns from the builds you cook, the swaps you make and the ones you skip, which is enough signal to keep the map accurate. If you want macro totals you can confirm a meal in one tap, and if you do not, nothing nags you.
That is the case the model is best at. Give it five things — a grain, a fat, an acid, an allium and one protein — and it will return builds that need two items or fewer from the shop. Anything missing goes straight to the grocery hand-off, so an empty shelf costs you one tap rather than a trip.
No, and we do not run ad-tech on the site. Your palate profile, pantry and dietary notes are used to build your meals and nothing else, and we never hand them to a grocery partner. Partners receive only the anonymous line items in the basket you approve. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy, and [email protected] answers requests within 30 days.
That is what the Table plan exists for. Up to six palates share one pantry and one grocery list while keeping separate maps, allergens and macro targets. Palatis looks for a single pan that satisfies everyone first, and when that is impossible it tells you which component to split and how to keep it to one extra pot.
Three builds a day, the full palate profile and flavor map, pantry sync for 40 items and the grocery hand-off, forever, without a card. Pro adds unlimited builds, unlimited weekly plans, macro tracking and coach notes. Plenty of cooks never leave Free, and we would rather that than a trial that expires mid-week.
